With the benign blessings of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam and His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Mahasannidhanam, Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri, Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre inaugurated Smt. Parvati Chandrasekhar Floor, Smt. Parvati Chandrasekhar Bone Marrow Transplantation Centre, Paediatric Oncology Wards, 4th Floor and Sri Shankara Cancer Research Centre on 27th February 2021.
Sri Lakshmi Ashtotra Pooje was performed to seek the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi and begin the day's activities.
The inauguration ceremony was held in hybrid mode with the Chief Guest, Sri Deepak S. Parekh - Chairman, HDFC Ltd joining virtually from Mumbai. Following the Welcome Address by Dr. B.S. Srinath, Managing Trustee, SSCF, the guests of honour and donors lit the auspicious lamp to symbolize the inauguration. The chief guest's address to the gathering inspired the donors and the entire SSCF team to continue in this united fight against cancer.
Dr. M. Maiya, Guest of Honour and Mrs. Vandana Raghuram's talk gave an insight into the lives of Smt. Parvati Chandrasekhar and Sri . T S Chandrasekhar and their motivation to support SSCF in this journey.
The guests and project consultants were later felicitated as a token of appreciation for their relentless support.
The addition of the two new floors will increase the bed capacity of the hospital and enable us to provide our much sought after services to cancer patients. The Bone Marrow Transplantation Centre, Paediatric Oncology wards and Sri Shankara Cancer Research Centre will make Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre a comprehensive centre for affordable cancer care.
